Being a vegetarian

Vegetarians are the people who change their eating habits in order to stay healthy and keep away from the products they consider to be unhealthy ones. They may do this because of their religious, ethic or merely health reasons but anyway they make a good choice.

Without doubt is not enough to put limits to the intake of certain products; it is important to substitute them for the products with the same nutritive value because human organism cannot do without some elements that are important for its proper functioning.

Vegetarian diet is considered to be a very healthy diet but it also has its pros and cons. According to the data vegetarians have bigger life expectancy; they rarely face heart problems, high blood pressure, obesity, diabetes, cancer, cholesterol level.

At the same time these differences may be the result not only of the distinction in eating habits but because of the healthier mode of life of these people. For instance fewer smokers are present in this group of people; moreover they prefer healthier pastime activities and have better economic and social status. It is obvious that they are more concerned about health.

Disadvantages include lack of microelements and vitamins that vegetarians don't get with meat and other products produced by cattle. Those who prefer to have a mere vegetative diet feel healthier and look younger though such sort of diet should be taken consciously and according to the medical prescriptions. Otherwise it can do much harm.
